THRIVE in University

Improving Well-Being & Developing Autonomous Learning Strategies

Improving Wellbeing & Developing Autonomous Learning Strategies

Nurturing young minds during the transition into University is uniquely challenging.  After years of receiving specifically structured guidance and support, learners need to quickly develop strategies to work and learn autonomously.

Students at university are expected to be fully responsible for their own learning, attendance and time management. They have to master independent and self-directed study skills. These skills can prove critical to their attainment and achievement.

As specialists in neurodiversity - delivering tailored programmes and coaching - we're here to provide unwavering support to both educators and students on this transformative journey.

We offer core THRIVE programmes - which include one-to-one coaching and the running of group learning hubs, over 6-12 weeks,  for students and educators.

In addition to these successful programmes, we also provide our Crisis Support package for times of exceptional need.

Whether you're seeking ways to empower your students, enhance your teaching strategies, or create a more inclusive learning environment, we would love to join you. Together, let's make a positive impact on your university community.

Thrive

Time for a new approach

THRIVE Programmes and approaches provide learners, educators and support teams with time, space and expert guidance to learn about themselves, their patterns and their processes. This enables them to be at their best more of the time.

Explore Genius coaches and facilitators are known for their agile approach. They adapt each session to the needs of the participants in each moment.

Working with Explore Genius one-to-one and/or in learning-hub groups, you can expect to experience and develop the skills to listen and hear in a way that leaves you and others feeling that all experiences are accepted, honoured and acknowledged.

"Thrive is a transformative program designed specifically for University learners and Lecturers."

THRIVE in University offers transformative programmes designed specifically for university students and lecturers.

THRIVE in University programmes equip learners with essential skills and strategies to navigate their educational journey with confidence, whilst providing educators with the tools to create inclusive and supportive learning environments.

Through personalised coaching and workshops, we promote self-awareness, resilience, effective learning techniques, and a deeper understanding of neurodiversity.

Join us today on this journey of empowerment and transformation in education.

Thrive for Universities Can Include:

Goal setting & planning

Helping learners create conditions to improve their own organisational skills can reduce stress and use their neurodivergent strengths. An individual's perception of time can often inhibit their confidence to set goals and plan. By understanding their own relationship with time, students can develop strategies to work and learn more effectively.

Improved memory recall

Stress can significantly impact memory and recall. Not understanding why they can't remember certain types of information can reduce students’ confidence. When a learner understands their own recall cues, they can develop practical strategies that work when learning, revising and preparing for exams. This helps them advocate for reasonable adjustments that would set them up for success.

State management

Fostering the conditions for individuals to speak freely and honestly about their experience, provides students with the opportunity to learn how their brain works.  By understanding what triggers anxiety or stress and discovering what they need to settle their state, gives them the resources to access  learning more easily. They become more focused and productive with the focused time they have.

Harness strengths

With an increased awareness of their own strengths and abilities, students can build confidence and resilience to work on strategies for behaviours that are impacting their performance.

We lead this by modelling what is happening through the lens of curiosity - not labelling anything as good or bad. We simply identify what works, what doesn't work and what could work better for everyone involved.

Crisis Support

During challenging times, our Crisis Support response offers compassionate help. We work alongside both students and staff to identify effective solutions, ensuring a supportive environment that promotes wellbeing and resilience.

Why people believe in us

"Through the ‘Thrive’ teachings the students built their confidence through practice of how to ask questions. This meant that they were more resourced to learn, socialise and solve problems"

Bev Ford

Head of Pastoral

Before working with Explore Genius, my learner would struggle with self regulation and run out of school. What I noticed is these traumatic exits became few and far between and they were able to calm themselves more quickly. They now come to me when they are struggling, to talk things through. What we have learned together is that it is better to use visual learning, rather than relying on words and verbal instructions

Lead Senco

"I am now able to better listen to my clients and apply some of the questioning around certain subjects. This has allowed for a deeper relation between myself and my clients."
